Historic Home Window Restoration in Geelong: A North Geelong Glass Project
North Geelong Glass restores Geelong’s Historic Corio Villa conservatory glass
Recently the Team at North Geelong glass we contacted to repair a few old panels of bronze safety glass in the conservatory.
We believe these were installed in the 1980’s and now with the updated Australian Safety Standards, they needed to be replaced to a better safer option as they didn’t conform.
We discussed several options with the owners of this beautiful home and, it was decided that we would replace the whole roof. With new 11.78mm laminated toughened safety glass.
With an energy coated glass protecting the family from damaging ultraviolet rays and supplying a superior glass.
So, we removed the old capping that was done in sections, removed the old broken and unsafe glass.
Measured all the panels and the angles and ordered the glass.
Then the team went ahead In securing and strengthening the beams, cleaning and prepping the frames before installing the glass. Then finishing the capping with new powder coated caps

The dramatic transformation has made this room so bright and fresh letting in natural light and restoring this room to a showpiece.
Here is the Before and after images removing the old bronze safety glass, the fresh look installing clear energy efficient safety glass. Natural light oozing thru the ceiling.

On behalf of North Geelong Glass, we would like to thank the owners for choosing us to complete this job. It was a pleasure working on this beautiful home.
